All of the ice rink scenes in Hawkeye are incredible. Clint doing the whistle? Yelena offering him a hand? Her beginning to grapple with what really happened? Literally everything about Kate and Clint fighting together? Fucking amazing.

Hey Jordan, when it comes to Disney +, what have been your thoughts for each of the MCU shows and the movies that have been recently released?
i'll start by talking about my favorite show which is wandavision. i absolutely love that show and think it's the best one out there by a mile. the second runnerup is loki (I haven't seen the new season yet, so no spoilers!) the third one is definitely hawkeye!
i haven't seen FATWS only because when it came out, there was only loki and wandavision, and I heard that FATWS wasn't that good in the sense that there was no character development like there was in the other two. I'll have to watch it eventually because it's going into my marvel rewrite, but that's way later down the line
i absolutely love the what if...? series and wish there were more seasons and episodes. i think it's a very cool concept
i don't know why eternals gets so much hate because that movie is definitely in my top three in every MCU film that's ever been made. the CGI is done so well and I love the storyline
i haven't seen moonknight and i don't know if i will
if you want to read my thoughts about dr. strange 2, you can read them here!
i watched ms. marvel and didn't dislike it. it's a good show as a introduction to the character, but I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to. though, I am excited to see the marvels this november!
i also loved thor love and thunder. i thought it was really funny and don't know why it got so much hate
i haven't seen she hulk and i don't know if I will, either. some say it's very funny and some say it's terrible. hulk was never my favorite character, and I hate what marvel has done to bruce banner's character by mixing the hulk and banner together
i liked wakanda forever but i think it was cheap because chad died. i think that they had a different story in mind knowing he was going to play t'challa again but when he died, they put together a half-assed script at the last second instead fo regrouping and coming up with a better story. (I also don't see the point in ri-ri's character in the movie other than she's an omen for the next iron man)
ant man 3 is another movie i absolutely loved and don't know why it deserved the hate it did. i love paul rudd and think he's a great ant man. i thought the movie was so funny and really well done. i think people had an issue with kang's character because ant man beat him, but I don't think they realize that it was one version of kang, not the strongest. plus, he was in the quantum realm, and he's less powerful down there. i don't know what Marvel is going to do with kang's actor since I hear he got arrested? accused of DV? I'm not sure what's going on there
the third GOTG movie is top tier. i absolutely LOVED that movie. GOTG is definitely my favorite trilogy next to ant man's trilogy and spiderman's trilogy
finally, i haven't seen secret invasion yet even though I want to. i guess I'm waiting for all the episodes to come out before I watch it. i stopped waiting for episodes every week as soon as I got streaming services. i'd rather wait to binge them all instead of wait once per week.
let me know your thoughts or if you want me to elaborate on something!

My ranking of the Disney+ MCU shows cause I just watched Agatha all Along and I need to get these thoughts out. (Spoilers duh)
Echo - didn't watch it
She-Hulk - didn't finish it. What i did watch wasn't good or funny. Also She-Hulk’s design is a sleep paralysis demon.
Secret Invasion - did finish it. Wish I didn't. Such a wasted concept and don't even get me started on the finale, because wth. Also like it really f’s up the world because who is skull? who has been a skull. Earth is now chaos and Nick Fury just kinda dips.
Moon Knight - I know some of y'all are holding up the pitch forks but just pause for a quick sec. Now I didn't finish this one either but I also wasn't grabbed by the character of Moon Knight and literally don't care about him. Could never show up again in the MCU and I wouldn't care. I might give it another try but for now it's here.
What If - good one off episodes. Like the Zombies one. What if Ultron won. The Supreme Strange one. But fumbles so hard on the missed ones people want to see. I literally don't give too shits about Captain Carter why is she everywhere?!! So yes I haven't finished this either (I'm noticing a trend) but like the concepts aren't interesting to me.
Agatha All Along - just finished this today and it was pretty good. Billy and Alice were my favs. RIP queen too good for this world. That Witches Road song is addicting af. Had some great moments like Alice's Trial, Billy's Backstory, Laila's trial coming together, Agatha's real backstory with her son and the witches road. But for all its good stuff there were some times the plot dragged and was a bit confusing. But good for what it was.
Loki - y'all hear me out ok! Loki is the best show, like well made, cinematic and such. However it's not my favorite. I'm more into the slice of life MCU shows. I'm not looking for them to set up a lot on the way and Loki has alot of stuff. Now it's still good. Like Loki and Mobius are THE duo and O.B. was such an icon also loved the variants in the first season like Kid Loki and Alligator Loki. But like Silvie and Loki kissing - why? Anyways, a solid show.
Ms. Marvel - this show is just fun. Kamala is such a pookie. Her parents are funny. And it's really got a coming of age feel which I like. It does take me out of it when they go to like Pakistan and stuff, then when she gets back like there's one ep left to get stuff done so yeah a bit rushed. And though I like the vibes there are some cringe moments. But fun.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Sam and Bucky show. Yes flags mashers are weak villains and the redhead chick is annoying but…. Sam and Bucky relationship is peak and I love it so….yeah. not else much to say. I just like it so it's here.
Hawkeye - yes. Perfect. Kate Bishop is such a great character. I love the mentor relationship she has with Clint. The tracksuits are fun comical ‘villians’. Has a nice ending. I mean Lucky the pizza dog! C'mon, this show is great. Plus it always gets me in the Christmas spirit with it's use of classic songs,(You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch with the reveal of Kingpin! Amazing) does this show have flaws? probably,.but I don't see this is my favorite.

I watched the Loki show and really really enjoyed it!! Hit lots and lots of my favorite buttons. Delightful time, would rec to friends. I liked it enough to want more extended plot info and see where it tied in, so I ventured into more MCU stuff: Quantumania, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Quantumania is VERY bad, and Love and Thunder is really enjoyable! More under cut.
Quantumania is one of the worst movies I have ever watched in my entire life and reminded me why I dropped Marvel stuff after Endgame's exhaustive posturing. It's nothing but CGI and even that can't shine through the bullshit of an ungrounded and emotionless story. The entire movie could've been replaced by an email between Michelle Pfeiffer and her family. The email probably would've been more interesting. When even Bill Murray can't save a scene, you know it's BAD.
But, hey, I still want to give MCU movies one more shot since I truly want more post-Loki info, and I used to be really really into this stuff. It's kinda like checking in on old friends. So, I watch the newest Thor movie.
Thor: Love and Thunder was EXTREMELY fun and had so much heart. And after the constant onslaught of hypercolored misery in Quantumania I was delighted to see so many different choices - Grim Hospital lighting, God City lighting, Noir World lighting, New Asgard lighting, super cool final watery place lighting, etc. It had issues, sure, and I'm ace enough to only ever feel bad for Thor when he gets stripped naked in every movie, but overall it was really entertaining and I'd suggest it for a good popcorn-munching movie.
Anyway, the three modern MCU things I have now watched felt like they're pushing for conclusions to the original MCU characters and rushing into setup for Young Avengers stuff (Cassie Lang in particular). I know Kate Bishop is in Hawkeye and I used to be VERY into Young Avengers, but I also know Kingpin (one of my absolute favorite villains ever ever ever) is turned into a joke, so not excited to try that out. The modern MCU feels very disjointed, and quality is... variable. But who knows, we'll see, I've got my sister's Disney Plus for another few weeks.
Moon Knight is up next, which I've heard is good. Probably because it seems completely disconnected from everything else.

Marvel & DC Comics?
Help me please.
I’ve found comics really interesting and always wanted to get into them, especially Marvel and DC comics, but for a beginner, there’s so much that I need to catch up on I feel like. There’s been resets in the multiverses and it’s extremely confusing on where I’m supposed to start on.
My only media of comics is the movies and Invincible. I’ve watched all the Marvel Movies and Disney Plus shows (Except Moon Knight and Hawkeye, plan to though) and only a few DC movies except for the most recent movies.
I don’t really care to be caught up on the entire absolute lore and instead as a casual reader, but wherever I find an interesting comic I wish to read, there’s like multiple series I need to read before starting that one.
I only have 3 comics:
Ms. Marvel
Invincible
Harley Quinn: White Knight
I’m slightly put off of from reading comics as Harley Quinn: White Knight is apparently a sequel to to the White Knight series so I’ll like a few starters that’ll be good for a beginner.
Besides that, here’s some characters I’m really interesting in and would like some help on where to read comics for them.
[The Batman Who Laughs] I love the concept and design for this character, but getting into his comics seems so confusing. I’ve looked up a reading order and there’s like 5 different series I need to read before reading his main series and IDK where to start his comics. Plus I hear he’s pretty powerful and has become a fan favorite so I’d really like to get into his comics.
[Silk] When I bought my first comics, I was going to buy Silk: Out of the Spider-Verse, but they only had Vol 3 and I dislike buying series out of order so I didn’t but it. Besides that event, I lover her design, I heavily enjoy Spider-Man and she’s from the main series which means she must be relevant or some degree. What I’d mainly like to know is if Silk: Out of the Spider-Verse a good place for her character or not? Please answer.
[Reverse Flash] I’ve never seen him in any media, but the movies and only know a few thighs about him besides the one clip where he tells Barry that it was him that made it seem like his girlfriends touched his thigh when it was him. Besides that, I seen how he’s extremely petty which I find pretty funny and how ruthless he is. Any comics about him will be welcomed as he seems extremely interesting.
[Gwen Poole] I just searched her name up and found out she’s an alternate version of Gwen Stacy so that’s something. Besides that, I like the more anime style she has and love her aesthetic. I was originally going to buy the The Unbelievable Gwenpool comics, but they were a bit expensive at the time and didn’t but it, but I really like her character design. When I researched the order of her character, it was like only 2 series I need in order to understand the The Unbelievable Gwenpool.
[Zatanna] Most of these are me liking their designs as I don’t know their characters all to much, but I lover her design. I don’t know like anything about her, I don’t even know if she’s a villain or not, but she was in Injustice 1 which I’ve never played. I don’t know what comics she mainly shows up in, but suggestions will be really nice.
[Raven] The Teen Titans always interesting me and especially the Cartoons for it. I never watched it a bit of Go so that’s how I know most of the characters, but they still interest me. Characters like Starfire, Blackfire, Beast Boy, Deathstroke, Jinx, and especially Raven always interested me. I however don’t know where to really begin the Teen Tians story or character specific characters.
[Spawn] I sorta main him in MK11, plus his design is sick as usual. I’ve never really seen him connected with the main timeline characters, but I wish to read his comics. Best comics for Spawn please.
[Galactus] Fortnite. Anyway, I’ve always found Galactus interesting since he’s such a major and powerful character inside of Marvel. I don’t believe he has a comic specifically for him and I don’t really know where to start reading for his character, but he’ still so cool in everyway. Enemies to some of the most powerful characters, devourer of planets, it’s so interesting.
[Red Hood] I know the basics of his character, Jason Todd if I’m correct. The first Robin and was killed by the Joker, but Batman or someone brings him back and Jason changed to Red Hoot, wanting revenge as he regretted meeting Batman cause he got torture by the Joker because of it. I may be incorrect, but I find such a motive for a character really fascinating.
[Harley Quinn] Harley Quinn is probably one of my favorite comic characters of all time. I’ve seen people complain about her character, especially with how she’s becoming something like the Deadpool of DC which I don’t fully see, but I don’t really think that's a bad thing. When I bought my comics, I knew I wanted something Harley Quinn related because I love her character. Please give me suggestions of comics with Harley Quinn that a beginner can understand without needing 50 other comics to understand. I plan to buy the rest of the White Knight comics so I can understand the story better, but I really just loved her character.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those wondering, I do plan to do some research on my own so I can get a good understanding of these characters comics, but comics seem truly hard to get into. It’s nothing like collecting Video Games, Movies, and Manga which set itself up to be easy to follow certain plot lines while comics seem to branch so much that it’s truly hard for a beginner to get into.
There’s obviously characters I’m interesting in besides these 10, characters like Loki, Deathstroke, Captain Marvel, Lobo, Joker, Thanos, The Presence, and TOAA (The One Above All)
This ended up becoming a rant so thank you for reading this far, if you can help and decide to leave a comment then I thank you. Have a wonderful day.

Hawkeye 1x6 Spoilers and Feelings
• Kate and Yelena have won number one besties in the whole wide world. They have so much potential. Can you imagine the girls nights and sleepovers and conversations and I love them so much. Iconic girl besties. We stan. (Especially considering Marvel has supplied us with zero fxf friendships since their start with Iron Man in 2008. We’re long overdue for some fxf bestie content.)
• Clint saying, “Kate, you’re my partner.” 😭 Plus Clint implying he’s better because of Kate 😭
• When Clint whistled, I stopped breathing. Making me curl up in my chair in a fetal position while I shake and sob and make horrible choking crying noises. That broke me.
• I haven’t liked Jack for five episodes. He was still the annoying stepdad who called Kate “Katie” and tried to psychoanalyze her based on a parenting book he read. He’s still annoying. I don’t care if he’s not evil, this episode didn’t make me like him. Sorry not sorry.
• MAYA 😍 Just MAYA. Soooooo excited for Echo. But also her killing Kazi felt similar to when Nebula killed 2014 Nebula in Endgame. Like the whole “he won’t let me” thing. Super sad for Maya. Poor babe.
• Fisk isn’t dead, right? I mean, these Marvel Disney+ shows have definitely all left me with a sense of “Wait. That’s the end?” Wanda’s conclusion in WandaVision was rushed. Karli’s death in TFATWS was rushed. Everything that happened in the “finale” of Loki sucked. All of What If…? was a disaster. But I mean… they didn’t just kill Fisk after one episode of Hawkeye, right? Like… Matt was in the middle of a very long showdown with this guy.
• Kate and Lucky with the Bartons on Christmas 🥰
• That ending with Kate talking about a superhero name and Clint says, “I have an idea-” and then it cuts to the Hawkeye logo. AMAZING.
• Really underwhelmed with the end credits scene especially considering there were none this entire series. But it’s okay. I’m content with a happy ending for the Hawkeyes.
• And while this was all good and fun and all, Clint and Kate definitely killed a lot of those Tracksuits 😅 Especially the bros who were taken by that owl. They were probably most definitely eaten…
BUT that was definitely my favorite of the Marvel Disney+ shows. I enjoyed every episode. And I cried and genuinely laughed so much throughout the entire series. This show actually made me care about Clint who I haven’t cared about ever, so good for them! And I freaking adore Kate Bishop. So… MORE PLEASE! 😁

New to Disney Plus
A review of my weekend watches this holiday weekend:
HAWKEYE
Adding to the other MCU shows on Disney Plus, Hawkeye dropped this week with its first two episodes (about 40 minutes a piece). I’ve watched every Marvel show on Disney Plus so far (as you can probably tell on this page). I was looking forward to this one too, and so far I’m really enjoying it. I’m liking how it feels like a MCU film in installments. I like the setting in Manhattan and during Christmas time. Hawkeye’s character has always been someone who hasn’t gotten too much of a spotlight, so a TV show with him as one of the main characters feels right. I think it’s cool that Kate Bishop looked up to him as a kid. I instantly liked Kate Bishop, and I like how the show starts with her as a kid in 2012 witnessing the chitauri destroying Manhattan. She’s a badass with a lot of cool skills, that I’m excited to see develop more. The relationship between Clint and Kate is already a fun one. I also like the call backs to the Ronin and how we have a murder mystery on our hands to solve.
Lastly, I would totally see that Broadway musical, Rogers.
OLAF PRESENTS...
Another November release that I was VERY excited for. In my opinion, the best part of Frozen 2 was Olaf; from looking for ‘Samantha’ to recapping the original Frozen, he was hilarious. I thought it was genius that Disney would create a short series with Olaf introducing and summing up other classic Disney films. They go really fast, and can be watched in seconds of each other. While there are six episodes listed, there are really five shorts with the last episodes being a compilation of all five. My favorites were The Little Mermaid, Lion King, and Tangled (who Olaf confirmed is a personal friend, which means Rapunzel does exist in the Frozen universe).
CIAO ALBERTO
I know I basically have said I was excited for each of these, but I was EXTREMELY excited and anticipating Ciao Alberto. As I instantly fell in love with the world of Luca, I was thrilled that the movie was getting a short so close to the release of the film. (I know it’s been a bit since the summer, but sometimes we have to wait years.) Luca feels like a film that has a die-hard fanbase or people who have never seen it, so I was happy for some recognition.
Anyways....that’s all to say that while I loved the concept of seeing more of Alberto and Massimo’s relationship, I was disappointed. Not just in how fast it went, but I just felt sad. I wanted to see more happiness and while the moment shown above (in the picture) is HUGE and heartwarming, I wanted a little more of that rather than watching Alberto try and mess up so many times.
SHANG-CHI
This is not my first time watching Shang-Chi, but as it recently came to Disney Plus, I rewatched it with my family. It was still SO GOOD! Out of the last three MCU film releases, this one is hands-down my favorite. The characters are so easy to fall in love with, and root for. The storyline is solid, and I’m looking forward to what will come next. Highly recommend if you haven’t watched already. It’s available for all on Disney Plus.

[The article contains spoilers for The Good, The Bart and The Loki]
When Disney Plus launched with all of “The Simpsons” episodes, the team behind the longest running primetime TV series in history were thrilled.
“It’s a perfect fit and, you know, 100 million subscribers,” says executive producer Al Jean with a chuckle.
But there was one catch: While Disney Plus has specific tiles on its home screen for Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, “There’s no tile that actually says ‘The Simpsons,'” he says.
So co-creator and executive producer James L. Brooks suggested “The Simpsons” should invade the rest of Disney Plus, through a series of crossover short films.
“It was just the desire that we had to reach out to the viewers [of] the other branches of Disney Plus, to see if they would be interested in us — you know, if they hadn’t seen us as much,” Jean says.
The first short, “The Force Awakens From Its Nap” — which placed Maggie Simpson inside the world of “Star Wars” — premiered on May 4 (i.e. the May the Fourth “Star Wars” holiday). As that film was wrapping up production in April, Jean zeroed in on Marvel Studios’ series “Loki” for their second film — but they had to move with superhuman speed, since that show was premiering in June.
The result is “The Good, The Bart, and the Loki,” with Tom Hiddleston voicing his signature role as the wily god of mischief after he’s banished from Asgard and lands, to his horror, in Springfield.
“They couldn’t have been nicer at Marvel,” says Jean. “They said, ‘Hey, would you like the Avengers music?’ And we said, ‘Would we?! Yes!'”
As Jean revealed in his conversation with Variety, the team behind the film, lead by director David Silverman, leaned into their knowledge of not just past films and series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the upcoming film “Thor: Love and Thunder” — and, for the final post-credits scene, they had just a week to turn it all around.
There’s a great tableau in which a whole bunch of different Simpsons characters appear as the Springfield Avengers, including Barney Gumble as Iron Man and Milhouse as Hawkeye. How did you decide all that?
That was the most fun thing. In the room, we were just putting them together, and it was really fast. It was like, Patty and Selma are the Scarlet Witch and Agnes. My favorite was Ralph as the Hulk and Herman as Captain America — because he wears the Captain America shield on his shirt because he’s a gun store owner. It was about 10 minutes to put that together. We would’ve had more — I mean, there’s 100 Avengers — but we were just trying to make sure that the production got done on time.
When you made Lisa into Thor, was that a tip of the hat that…
…that Natalie Portman is going to be Thor in “Love and Thunder”? Absolutely. And then, to me, it was really funny that, you know, now that Lisa is Thor, she even has that over Bart, so he’s really aggravated. The parallel between Bart and Lisa and Loki and Thor is pretty clear.
Did Marvel have any notes? Or did they just kind of let you do your thing?
They really were great and supportive. The only note we had was we thought we could have a cameo by Stan Lee. We’re putting as many cameos and post-credits sequences into a four minute short as possible. But they said that their policy is that since he passed, they don’t use him in movies anymore, which I understood completely. And we had him on the show three times, so we had our shot.
The final post-credit sequence evokes the “Loki” Disney Plus show completely, down to the production design. How much turnaround time did you have for that?
A week, and it was really a nail biter. Jim Brooks said, ‘Oh, we’ve got to do something with the series now that it’s on,’ because we were coming out July 7. So that was based on the first episode only. I hadn’t seen the other three, and obviously, I have no idea how it ends, either. I suspect Loki is up to no good. That’s my theory.
Wait, so you had a week to write, record, and animate that?
Yep. We recorded Dawnn Lewis as the Judge. David Silverman turned it around that fast. So that whole ending, whatever, minute, is in a week.
The short ends with Lisa unknowingly sending Bart into oblivion and Loki takes over Bart’s life.
Well, in the last short, Maggie dies. She comes back as a force ghost, but she’s dead. This one, Bart doesn’t seem to have very good ending. [Laughs] Homer seems to be eating Flanders at the end of the Loki story, too, so there’s a lot of grim stuff under the surface!
So do you think that you’ll revisit the world of Marvel or the world of Star Wars again?
We definitely want to keep doing these shorts — definitely [with] those two, but also with the other properties, like Pixar and the classic Disney movies. We’ll probably take a little more time on the next one. We haven’t settled on what we’re going to do yet, but there are just so many things that are just so, you know — I mean, as a kid, I was a huge fan of Marvel. I started collecting when I was six. These are the things that we would want to crossover or parody, anyways.

I finally finished the Hawkeye show, and I gotta say of all the Disney+ shows I have seen - and I am only missing What If... - this one is my favorite
And not just because I loved Kate Bishop already before that since I am big ole sucker for the Young Avengers
But it had the best pacing of the shows, the characters were solid and the plot was good
It still doesn't offer much direction for Clint personally, which has always been his issue in the MCU but him taking a mentor role for Kate for upcoming shows and movies might not be too bad, and their dynamic is certainly enjoyable
As well as the Yelena and Kate dynamic, I am going to riot if we don't get more of that
MARVEL, GIVE US THAT GOOD HAWKEYE-BLACK WIDOW 2.0 DYNAMIC
And I do love the idea of Kate getting integrated into the Barton family with Lucky
Truth be told, Clint is one of my fave Marvel comic characters, and I didn't much like what they did with him in the MCU, I actually liked his more ruthless Ronin arc in Endgame so fucking much since it gave him drive and personality that had been lacking before that
(plus I am a sucker for tattoos and seeing Clint with his tattoos casually in the show was just *chef's kiss*)
I don't want to get too spoilery, because I am on mobile right now, and Read Mores are impossible to place
Obviously this show had flaws - it was a show more about Kate than Clint which isn't necessarily bad but I know many people hoped for a bit more depth on Clint, his backstory in the MCU for example and how much it differs from the comics - but it was still a great watch, and in my opinion, the greatest of the Disney+ shows so far
#my posts#marvel#hawkeye#clint barton#kate bishop#sadly clint can't be as much of a disaster as he is in the comics#being a responsible dad and all#but I loved seeing the influences of THE comic run#hawkeye fans know which one I mean#the title card alone gives it away#also ooooof yelena's and clint's confrontation#and kazi's and maya's#my fucking heart

Talk + Vodka = Truth (Marvel AU)
Plot: AU The Avenger caught the blonde stalking him for the past few weeks and he wants answers.
Characters: Hawkeye/Ronin!Changbin (SKZ) x Yelena Belova!Felix (SKZ), plus mention of Black Widow!Minho, Kate Bishop!Yeji, and other MARVEL characters
Rating: PG-13 (Language, spy behaviors, the Snap/the Blip, Red Room, assassin work, death, drinking, mention of PTSD)
Notes: This one shot is based on the MARVEL x SKZ moodboards I’ve been making for fun. The story is set between the events after Black Widow, Avengers: Endgame, and before the Hawkeye Disney+ show. If you’ve not watched the first two films and wish to avoid spoilers, please skip this story. Additionally, the contents of this one-shot are fictional and were created for fun.
Happy Birthday Changbin!
--------------------------------
“You sure you’re old enough to be here, Kid?”
The blonde rolled his eyes, before reaching into his jacket to produce an ID.
The waiter and the man seated across from him watched as the ID was handed over. The former scanned the front and sighed as he passed it back to the blonde.
“Sorry, guess The Blip screwed you over - you look young for your age,” the waiter apologized. “What can I get you?”
“Vodka,” the blonde replied. “How much for the bottle?”
Changbin raised a brow and stared at the young man seated across from him. This guy could put away a whole bottle of vodka? It didn’t seem right, plus that was pretty unhealthy to be drinking that much.
“Let me check with the bartender on that,” the waiter said. He turned to face Changbin and asked if he wanted the usual.
“Unless he intends to drink the entire bottle, I’ll take whatever vodka he wants,” Changbin responded.
The waiter excused himself and went to check on the vodka situation.
“Drinking a whole bottle of vodka in one go is bad for your liver,” Changbin noted as he folded his hands in front of him.
The blonde snorted and quipped that Changbin sounded like his brother. The comment made the Avenger raise a brow and he straightened up in his seat.
“The bottle is gonna cost you $35, tip not included,” the waiter announced when he returned.
Before Changbin could grab his wallet, the blonde beat him to it and placed a crumpled $50 into the waiter’s hand. “Keep the change.”
The waiter unfolded the bill and immediately left to grab the bottle and some glasses for serving. The place wasn’t busy for the early to mid-afternoon, but Changbin had a feeling the waiter wasn’t used to getting a larger than average tip during this time. The pair watched as the waiter returned within seconds with the bottle and two glasses.
Changbin flashed the waiter a light smile and told him to take it easy. He slid the bottle closer and opened it, before pouring some of the contents into one glass and nudging it across the table. “So, wanna tell me who the hell you are and why you’ve been stalking me for 2.5 weeks?”
The blonde barely had the glass raised to his lips when he heard the questions. He looked up from his glass and parted his lips slightly in shock. This made the Avenger snicker as he poured some vodka into the other glass for himself.
--------------------------------
About a month and a half after burying Tony and Minho, Changbin noticed that the same blonde guy would show up in various places around the same time. The guy tried to be less obvious with disguises and using remote ways to track him, but after working with Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. for years, the Avenger’s picked up on people attempting to trail him.
Earlier today, he sensed he was being followed and urged his new protege to take Lucky and get somewhere safe. Sure Yeji gave him lip for trying to protect her, but the last thing he’d want is for her to get killed, thanks to someone hunting for him. Once the young woman had left with the dog, he hung around the area and pulled his bow on the blonde, who had a regular sidearm pointed at him. For a while, he tried urging the blonde to drop the gun before he shot first, but the blonde remained defiant with his gun pointed at the Avenger. What made them stand down was the sound of a siren and the blonde looked a little concerned when he heard the alarm.
Changbin made up his mind and told the young man to follow him so they could get under cover somewhere to finish the matter. He chose this hole-in-the-wall place that he visited at times during The Blip, often sitting and brooding over his missing family in between kills.
The blonde swore in Russian and put his glass down. “All right Old Man, I’ll make this easy for both of us. Name’s Felix. My employer told me you killed my brother and that I’m supposed to bring you in. But before I do that, why did you do it? He was telling me before The Blip that the Avengers were his real family, not me or our parents.”
Changbin tilted his head as he looked closely at the blonde across from him. If the kid wasn’t an assassin, he looked like the good kid you’d find in a suburban neighborhood, probably playing sports and making lots of friends. But the Russian, the mention of his brother again – wait, was this...?
“Min,” he offered in a soft voice.
The blonde nodded sharply and he picked up his glass again. “He’s dead, thanks to you. I’d like to know why you killed him, before I decide if I wanna bring you in dead or alive.”
The Avenger stiffened when he heard the accusation. His partner told him to go for counseling after fighting Thanos, as he was suffering terribly from losing Tony and Minho. Talking to the counselor about Minho was hard and the former couldn’t convince him that it wasn’t his fault that Minho insisted he sacrifice himself for the Soul Stone. Telling his kids that their Uncle Min wasn’t coming home was horrible, as they asked where he was and talked about their favorite memories of the red-haired “uncle” they had come to love.
“Do you know anything about Thanos and the Infinity Stones in that goddamn gauntlet he wore?” Changbin asked after prolonged silence.
When Felix shrugged, Changbin sighed and pushed his glass away as he recounted the attempts to stop Thanos from killing Vision for the Mind Stone, losing everyone he knew, then trying to get the stones again to undo what happened 5 years ago.
“It was the shrinking guy’s idea, some kind of time heist,” Changbin said. “Minho and I went to some planet in space, while the others went elsewhere in time for the other stones. We get there, this creepy red skeleton guy tells us that one of us has to sacrifice ourselves –”
“So you chose my brother?”
“YOH! I wasn’t done talking, you little shit,” Changbin snapped as he narrowed his eyes. He took a deep breath and groaned as he tried to explain what happened next. This was the hard part whenever he went to therapy – it was difficult to talk about Vormir without getting choked up and replaying the images of Minho using a stun function in his cuff to distract him, and Changbin trying to grab his hand to stop the former spy.
“Damn it, I told him I was supposed to do it!” Changbin yelled as he slammed his fist on the table. “He actually tried to keep shit together after The Blip. Me, I, I lost it. I lost my whole family. My partner. My kids. All while we were at home, having a normal day. Then I went out and I hunted down every bad guy, every gang, every criminal organization, everyone that survived and didn’t deserve it!”
The Avenger hung his head and he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to keep it together without crying. He could hear Minho’s voice, urging him to let go of his hand on Vormir.
“Let me go.”
“No. Please don’t.”
“It’s okay...”
The blonde took small sips from his glass as he watched and listened to the Avenger. Despite hating his time in the Red Room, he has to give his instructors some credit for teaching him the art of lying and reading a target’s body language. Based on what he’s seeing right now, the Avenger is telling the truth and Minho actually sacrificed his life to save the world. Which means, his employer lied or she exaggerated the story a bit, just to force him to cut his time off short. It wouldn’t surprise him – Val refused his request for a pay raise before handing over Changbin’s information for his next assignment.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m working for a female version of Dreykov, Felix thought. He put his glass down and stared across the table at the Avenger.
“Surprisingly, I believe you,” Felix replied. “Last time I saw my brother, he was going on about how he was trying to do good and forget about...yeah, well he was telling me how great things were with the Avengers before the Accords.” He played with his glass and tilted his head slightly. “You weren’t...dating my brother, were you?”
Changbin jerked his head up at the question and he paused for a few seconds, before laughing loudly. The blonde shot him a quizzical look and Changbin shook his head as he tried to compose himself.
“Oh man no, no way. Min was my colleague and sometimes, he thought it was funnier to ignore most of the shit I said,” Changbin said. “I swear he did it to piss me off, but other than that, we were friends.” He propped his elbow on the table and looked thoughtful as he recalled their mission in Budapest.
“He ever tell you about Budapest?”
Felix nodded and recounted his story of running from Dreykov’s project, otherwise known as Taskmaster, while protecting a serum to remove the brainwashing effect on the other Widows. “He makes me bleed out a bit, then we’re crammed in an air vent. An air vent. Think I saw tic-tac-toe games scratched inside the vent.”
“Wait, in the subway?”
“You mean it was the same vent you two hid in after you tried to kill Dreykov?” Felix asked. “That must have been...”
“Oh that was a weird three days!” Changbin laughed. “He got so annoyed by me complaining that I was hungry and said I was too loud. Once we got outta Budapest, he complained on the Quinjet that it was amazing I had someone in my life at all. But wait, what do you mean by ‘tried to kill Dreykov’? I thought Min said it was a hit – I saw the building go up in flames after the guy’s daughter went in. Don’t tell me that guy’s your employer.”
Felix made a face and he picked up his glass again.
“We’re going to be here a while...”

Marvel Part 3
This is the biggest chunk of the films by a bit, and a lot happens in here. I think there are four origin stories, and there’s even a sequel to one of those origins within the same group. A LOT happens, and in general things have been settled into a comfortable formula. And yet here we have some new directors, a lot of new characters, and some new takes on old favorites. Now that the MCU is so established, it seems people were more comfortable taking risks with these stories, and I think it pays off in audience satisfaction. Also, yes, we did watch seven movies in two days. What can I say? We’re good kids staying locked down.
1/22/21
Ant-Man – Peyton Reed, 2015
I’m very disappointed that this could have been an Edgar Wright movie. It comes so close, with the way Luis tells his stories and the structure of the final battle between the two tiny men. And yet it is definitely not Edgar Wright. It’s a pretty basic superhero origin story. That being said, Paul Rudd is a national treasure and absolutely carries this film. He is a delight to watch as the funny, clever lead, as he always is. He was made to be a quippy genius in a cool suit. Okay, that makes him sound like Iron Man. In a way, Ant-Man is Iron Man Lite. He’s not rich, he’s just an everyday guy. He is an engineer, but maybe not a genius. Most importantly, he’s genuinely funny, not rude, and he cares about his family. I do think the characterizations are what make this movie compelling, not the plot. It ties in very nicely to Civil War, and I enjoyed watching it directly before the epic crossover event. Having light-hearted characters with less worldly stakes keeps the MCU grounded and keeps superheroes from being too out of touch.
Captain America: Civil War – Joe and Anthony Russo, 2016
I hesitate to say this, but I think this might be my favorite movie in the MCU. I can’t quite put my finger on why, because there are certainly more epic team-ups, and I hate when friends fight. And yet, I still love this film. One, you get Hawkeye in a non-Avengers event, which is always terribly exciting. Two, you get the character intros of some of the best characters ever (Spider-Man and Black Panther). And three, you get an intense debate about morals that actually gives you something to talk about after you leave the theater. It feels rare to have a superhero movie that doesn’t have morals hitting you over the head with righteousness and love. This movie really makes you think about control and consequences. And I love a movie that makes you think. I’m also slightly biased because I had a great premiere experience, I got to see an early screening and the exclusivity made it more exciting too. It pulls on a lot of existing threads within the MCU and brings the conflict to a head in a spectacular way.
1/23/21
Spider-Man: Homecoming – Jon Watts, 2017
The stand-out role in Civil War, seeing Spider-Man on the big screen under Disney’s purview was certainly a treat. I appreciate that they didn’t go for yet another Peter Parker origin story, instead jumping in after he’s already become Spider-Man. We all know the story of the radioactive spider bite by now, so getting to see Spider-Man grow as a friendly neighborhood guy is delightful. It’s a high school coming-of-age movie that happens to feature superheroes. The stakes are brought down to a relatable level. Asking out the girl he likes is just as important as catching the bad guy, perhaps even more so. Tom Holland is the absolutely perfect casting choice, capturing both being an awkward teenager and being a web-slinging badass. And Tony Stark gets the opportunity to right his wrongs and step up to be a father figure for someone who desperately needs one. I do wish we got to focus on Peter’s story a little more, instead of using him as a pawn to fulfill Tony’s character arc. But that’s a small criticism for an otherwise lovely movie.
Black Panther – Ryan Coogler, 2018
Black Panther rocked the world when it came out, and rightfully so. Here we have a Black superhero who brings a respectful version of African traditions to the big screen. The worldbuilding of Wakanda is spectacular, showing that this hidden nation knows more about technology than anyone else in the world. It flies in the face of negative stereotypes about African peoples and blends aspects of tribalism in without making them feel like tokens. I think I like the Dora Milaje the best, the squad of women warriors who protect the king. They are so strong and beautiful with their shaved heads and spears and I love them. After Black Panther’s introduction in Civil War, it was nice to go into this movie and see what he dealt with in the weeks after his father’s death. Once again, seeing things in chronological order helped clarify any confusion I had about the timeline of things when they came out months apart in theaters. T’Challa had a really rough couple of weeks in there. Oh, and Michael B. Jordan is also excellent in his role as Killmonger. It’s a great movie for so many reasons.
Doctor Strange – Scott Derrickson, 2016
I feel like a lot of people don’t like this movie. It is true that Doctor Strange is a little bit like a discount Tony Stark, a man who thinks the rest of the world is below him because of his superior intellect. At least this movie has the decency to break him down to nothing before giving him ridiculous superpowers that serve to reaffirm that belief. I think this movie is fine. It’s definitely one of the more visually arresting films, which I always appreciate. On visuals alone, I’d pick this over something like Ant-Man or Thor 2. The concept is also relatively cool, making it seem like wizardry can be learned by anybody. However, it does feel out of place in the timeline. We’re getting close to the end of the line here, and all this movie does for the overarching plot is introduce the Time Stone. But while I think it’s a perfectly passable origin story, it doesn’t make sense here at this point in Phase 3 of the MCU. Plus Marvel didn’t really need another overpowered quippy white man. Again, this is a fun movie to watch, but for the first time in awhile, this is better on its own than in sequence.
Thor: Ragnarok – Taika Waititi, 2017
Taika Waititi is a creative genius and should be allowed to take over the entire film industry. What We Do in the Shadows is one of my favorite movies of all time and I’m so glad that he is now on the map and taking over the Thor franchise going forward. He took the goofy Thor we all know and love and turned up the humor without compromising character, adding in nods to the previous movies and the fans without offending anybody. To say nothing of Korg, arguably one of the best side characters we’ve seen in the MCU thus far. After seeing it for the first time on my birthday, my brother announced upon leaving the theater that this was his new favorite MCU movie. I do think that this ranks pretty highly for me. It makes Thor fun again. Plus it’s just a really good movie. Like it features characters we already know, and then uses characteristics we haven’t seen before to make them well-rounded and more interesting to watch. And it’s stylistically very well done too! The scene with Thor using his lightning and the flashback with the Valkyries and the fight on the rainbow bridge... It’s all so good. And I haven’t even mentioned Jeff Goldblum. There’s a very good reason my brother likes this movie so much. It’s because it’s excellent.
Ant-Man and the Wasp – Peyton Reed, 2018
Now, Thor: Ragnarok leads directly into Infinity War, so I do sort of wish we’d gone into that next. But it was more important for us to watch Infinity War and Endgame back to back, so we decided to throw the Ant-Man sequel in here. This movie is about what Ant-Man and his friends were up to immediately before the events of Infinity War, maybe even during, because he wasn’t in that movie. And it sets up some VERY important plot points for Endgame. It makes a lot of sense to release these in the order they did. This is still an okay movie, but it ultimately feels like filler. Which is a shame, because these are good characters. Paul Rudd is still a delight, and so is the supporting cast of thieves. At the end of the day, it does feel necessary to watch this movie at some point so that the other ones make sense, but it also doesn’t feel like it has much impact on its own. The villain is interesting enough, the dialogue is still snappy, but the most impactful part of the film is the end credits scene when you see the Pym family get dusted. It’s a preview of what’s to come, even more haunting if you know it’s coming. But the part of the movie that makes you sit up and pay attention should not be hidden away in the credits.

Don't mind me but I'm rambling. I'm gonna yell about this here cuz it is my fandom blog and that's what it's for.
Man, The Boys is the perfect example of seeing a comic, seeing the potential, and gutting it for something better. I used to be a fan of Garth Ennis, I used to say he was the kind of writer that could balance edgy in a fun way that wasn't too much, but after revisiting his work I'm like....very unimpressed. And I feel as he keeps releasing series they keep getting worse 😬 I can't say this on FB because some of my male friends hold it in high regards(lots of them read it as angry edgy teens) but Preacher? Kinda a super shit comic. I genuinely think the show was attempting something better by polishing up the core concept (also the casting? Chefs kiss). I liked The Boys. I own The Boys. But the show is a fantastic example of how a comic adaptation does not need to be faithful. I think they made the characters a lot more engaging, they kept the graphic violence but I'm not rolling my eyes at it, and made the overall plot more of an arc versus the previous baddie hero of the week style that made it feel disjointed. And it's nice not to be able to expect what is going to happen next, not like how some shows throw it in a new direction solely to fuck with you versus genuinely interesting. They still sprinkle tons of comic stuff nicely in the show (my friend and I screamed at love sausage). I think the timing of the show is excellent in both that there is a corporate superhero burnout with so many movies and shows being churned out (often playing it too safe where money > interesting) and also reflecting irl events in an eerie but clever way. The whole comic and show is assholes, and I'm thrilled to love to hate them. I couldn't even do much of a reread because it's just not that good to me anymore. Absolutely crazy that Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg read those two comics by Ennis and were like yeah, let's do this.
I feel the same way about Mark Millar though. I cannot stand his comics, I feel like he's pretty good with coming up with a concept but someone always executes it better on his behalf. Kingsman? Kick ass? Wanted? All superior to the comics. I think red son and jupiter's legacy are ones I did like, but I am very interested to see how netflix (?) Does jupiter's legacy in the wake of the boys. Not quite the same, but an edgy superhero series I highly expect people to make a comparison. It's about children of superheros that are struggling to live in their shadows. Drugs, sex, violence, drama.
On the other hand, I am screaming about the Invincible adaptation. IM SO FUCKING EXCITED. Invincible is in my top favorite comics, it got me INTO comics, and I always thought it was vastly superior to Kirkmans famous work Walking Dead. This I do hope sticks close to the comics (though maybe slightly better writing for women characters haha). I already know exactly what they're doing for the first arc and I really really hope we can get further than that because the series gets so fucking WILD. Insane all of the merch and now a show we are getting after the series ends. It's also super long for a western comic series at like 26 trades I think. I hope the show is a success for multiple reasons.
With the old guards success, I hope amazon finally does something with the rights they bought to Lazarus a few years ago. Greg Rucka is truly one of the best comic writers out there and that series is perfect for tv. Which reminds me I need to watch stumptown cuz I just bought the comic to reread and it's so good!!!!
And y the last man finally has its feet on the ground after being in development hell for like 10 years. Brian k vaughn writes the most human characters out there. And also paper girls is gonna be a series!!!! Fucking hell yeah!!! Hopefully it catches people attention as stranger things did. It's gonna be fun. And I hope saga never gets adapted. I truly think nothing will be able to capture it. Leave it as is.
And I'm still sad Chew ended up falling into development hell. Originally showtime wanted to use to to replace Dexter as that ended as their new bloody crime show, then it fell to an animated series which is better imo to pair with how weird it is and showcase the art style but I think the last I heard of it it was pretty much not happening. Especially since iZombie got surprising amount of traction and I guess they expected it to be too similar.
I'm also still bitter about Deadly Class's cancellation. I had a lot of potential. Great cast, good cinematography. It's such a fun tragic comic.
Locke&key was alright, it's such a good horror comic but I wouldn't be able to tell you what would have made the show better. Something didn't quite click for me.
I'm kinda really burnt out on marvel/dc. I don't think either is impressing me lately besides scattered things. I don't think I'm excited for any of the disney+ shows besides falcon+winter soldier and even then expectations are tentatively low. Maybe wandavision? I didn't give a shit about them in the movies but it's heavily based on a run of comics I did enjoy so I'm wary. I know only care about Hawkeye for Kate and she-hulk for the actress. Though I've been having a surprising amount of fun watching Doom Patrol and I enjoyed swamp thing. It's weird. It embraces that weird. There's something I feel like Umbrella Academy is missing it could learn from doom Patrol. Like ua still feels like it played it a bit safe. Idk. Haven't finished it because I'm not as motivated to.
And Faith?? Is gonna get a movie??? A plus size hero??? AHHHH. I have my first issue signed by the author I met at comic con a few years ago.
And watchmen of course.
And outcast, and happy, and powers! And I kill giants was turned into such a good movie!!! So many image comics!!
I just read nailbiter is gonna be a series so that's gonna be bloody and violent and full of serial killers lmao. The ending of that comic got a little ??? For me but I own the whole series so i guess that says something.
What a time to be a comics fan!!! We are so fucking spoiled lmao and there's still sooo many untapped series. I think Criminal would make a fantastic live action drama show. Who does like Intricate crimes and heists and overlapping stories And wic+div would make a stellar show especially if they really had fun with the music. And so many comics I like would make amazing animated series like pretty deadly, or chew, rocket girl. Haunt is another Kirkmans series that has potential to be a fun gritty superhero violent adaptation. Except the ectoplasma attacks haunt has looks like violent jizz sometimes. Idk. Like, URGHHHHHHH. Gimme gimme gimme more comic stuff.
And there's so many good things I'm not even aware it was a comic initially.
And there's so many things I hear good things I have yet to touch like black lightning, runaways ( I love the comics!!, Cloak and dagger (also great comics )
Old comic shit is good too. I've been rewatching the Spawn series. Adult animated superhero stuff is seriously underrated. The tank girl movie is FUN. ROCKETEEEEER!!!!! Disney was supposed to do a remake with a black girl. What happened to that?
I dislike all the cw shows though lmao too cheesy. Also why I can't get into agents of shield though I tried for Robbie.
So many THINGS
#hey i am a huge image fangirl if i havent screamed about that enough yet#ive been feeling emotional over comics#ever since invincible dropped the teaser#like legit tears smh#tumblr chabged how you do readmores i guess#i tried tk hide this so sorry if youre scrolling oast#i just#fuckjng love comics you guys

the ultimate list of comic book recommendations
Hello and welcome everyone! So if you don’t know, my name is Meg, and I happen to be an avid comic book/graphic novel reader and collector (even though I often write in a more fanon universe). So I thought for this post I would compile some of my favorite books for y’all.
I’ll categorize these, but don’t be afraid to try something completely different that what you’ve read before! And for new readers, this list can be a great way to find out where to start. So with that in mind, here’s the list!
DC COMICS
“So I like Batman but I don’t know where to start!”
Batman: Year One by Frank Miller - A classic detective Batman Story; a great starting off point for the character and comic books as a whole.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller - Another classic, highly rated comic. Features an older Batman and introduces Carrie as Robin.
Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb - My brother’s favorite. Gripping from start to end. More detective Bats.
For fans of darker/more artistic/”different” Batman stories
Batman: White Knight by Sean Murphy - Batman “bad”. Joker “good”.
Batman: The Black Mirror by Scott Snyder - Bats and Joker in an unlikely, drug-induced team up. Some of the best art in Batman.
Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee - Big fan of both writers. Very popular book in the fandom, but I’ve never personally read it (recommended by my brother).
For fans of Robins
A Death in the Family by Jim Starlin and Under the Red Hood by Judd Winick - pinnacle Jason stories; also for those looking for Tim Drake’s introduction.
Robin: Reborn by Chuck Dixon - Ignore the awful cover art; this is Tim Drake done right.
Red Robin by Christopher Yost - Hard to find this series in a physical copy so just read it online. Defining Tim Drake in one series *chef’s kiss* beautiful.
Super Sons by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason - The best Damian out there in my opinion, plus the addition of the always adorable Jon Kent
Ensemble
Justice League by Geoff Johns - Say what you want about n52, but this is the best JL out there (don’t fight me on this). Great for beginning readers.
Kingdom Come by Mark Waid - Alex Ross is simply the best comic artist out there. This one is a classic, but probably shouldn’t be your first rodeo with DC.
Brightest Day by Geoff Johns - Again, not for beginning readers; requires A LOT of background knowledge. But amazing characterization despite the hoard of characters it features.
Justice League Dark by James Tynion IV - Ugh I just love Zatanna.
DC Bombshells by Marguerite Bennett - The best damn DC AU ever made
MARVEL COMICS
Must Read!!
Vision by Tom King - Quite literally a modern masterpiece. Just, ugh, if you take anything away from this list, it’s go pick up Tom King’s Vision. Don’t like Vision? Doesn’t matter go pick up Tom King’s Vision-
Street-level heroes just trying their best (my favorite kind of comics)
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction - Hands down my favorite comic series of all time. Perfect characterization of Clint and Kate. Pick these up before the Disney+ series comes out :) Cannot recommend this enough.
Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson - Actual ray of sunshine Kamala Khan will take over your life. Follows her coming to grips with her powers as a POC teen who needs to balance school, home, and hero life.
Let’s hear it for the ladies!
Captain Marvel by Kelly Deconnick - Liked the movie? You’ll love this. So much heart and humor.
Dark Phoenix Saga by Chris Claremont - I got my copy signed by Claremont and almost cried. First comic I bought with my own money; has a special place in my heart.
Jean Grey by Dennis Hopeless - What can I say? I’m a Jean stan forever. A nice pick-me-up after DPS. Features a young Jean in the wrong universe.
Spider-Gwen by Jason Latour - Liked Spiderverse? Boy, do I have the comic for you.
Misc and Third Party
Watchmen by Alan Moore - Simply a masterpiece
Space Riders by Fabian Jr. Rangel - A fever dream from start to finish, in space. Amazing artistry.
Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way - Speaks for itself. The show is too damn good.
WHAT I’M READING NOW!
The New Teen Titans by Maru Wolfman and George Perez
Batman: Last Knight on Earth by Scott Snyder
DCEASED
Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia
Hope these help!! Let me know what you think if you pick any of these up. Feel free to message me for more recs or information on any of these. Also, feel free to reblog with your favorite comics!! Lmk if you want to see more rec lists like these or even comic reviews :) Thanks!

My favorite DC and Marvel comic books if you care about representation! (female heroes, heroes of color, disabled heroes, LGBt heroes, etc).
@friedsewerrat // @symbolofthatass // @cardinalpinion // @ofmightyflames // @blareldur // @cleavcd
Ironheart (2018-2019) by Eve. L Ewing: A black girl named Riri Williams from Chicago Tony Stark hires as his protege. A super genius who protects Chicago from the Ten Rings. There is a beginner series Invincible Iron-Man by Bendis but the Ironheart story by Ewing is FAR better. More authentic of black culture and black female unity.
She’s in the Marvel: Rising cartoon, but her design is whitewashed. But it’s the only appearance she has outside the comics until Disney Plus pitches her show with RDJ back as Tony.
Ms. Marvel & The Magnificent Ms. Marvel: A Pakistani and Muslim girl called Kamala Khan who gained the powers from stretch her body. She is known as an Inhuman, and becomes the next Ms. Marvel after Carol Danvers (who’s now Captain Marvel).
She’s also from the Marvel: Rising cartoon show and the upcoming Avengers video game for PS4. There’s also a Disney+ MCU show of her coming soon.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man by Saladin Ahmed. Miles almost finishing high school while having a cute little sister. If you love Into the Spiderverse movie, I highly suggest this.
Nova (2017): A Latino half-alien boy named Sam Alexander who’s one of the surviving Nova Corp officers with his resurrected senior Nova captain (Rich Rider) trains him.
Jessica Cruz: A Mexican-honduran Green Lantern with an anxiety disorder. She’s from a variety of Green Lantern and Justice League comics and in the DC Superhero Girls show and the Justice League special.
Hawkeye: Clint dealing with a hearing disability and PTSD while training a teen girl to be the next Hawkeye. There’s a Disney Plus show about that too coming up.
Young Avengers & Champions: A bunch of teenage Avengers (and some non-Avengers) forming a superhero group. The majority of both teams are people of color and LGBT. Including a Loki resurrects himself into a kid.
Outlawed: A spin-off of Champions about the government making teen heroes being superheroes illegal.
Black Panther vol. 5: Shuri becomes Queen of Wakanda and the next Black Panther after T’Challa goes me missing. I rec this if you love her from the BP movie.
Blue Beetle (2006) : A Mexican-American boy from Texas named Jaime Reyes with an alien device attached to his back to help him transform.
Jaime is also from a lot of animated series: Young Justice, Injustice 2 game, Batman Brave and the Bold, and Justice League Action. DCEU is also pitching a movie about him.
Agents of Atlas: A team of all-Asian superheroes (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Filipina)
Birds of Prey by Gail Simone: An all-female hero team in Gotham. Warning: HARLEY IS NOT IN THIS BOOK! She is not the leader like in the movie. Barbara Gordon is the leader: formerly Batgirl who was paralyzed by the Joker and bound to a wheelchair. She’s called Oracle while training Cass Cain as the next Batgirl (and Cass does not talk like in the movie, she has a learning and speaking disability. Good representation for disabled women.
DC Bombshells: Another all-female hero group that takes place in the 40s where the women fight Nazis. A variety of plus-size women, buff women, women of color, Jewish women, and even trans women. Warning: nazi themes, and racist and anti-semitic comments.
Superman Smashes The Klan: Based on the radio show, Superman protects Chinese-American children from Klan members. Warning: anti-Asian racist slurs and anti-semitic comments.
Honorable Mentions: (good characters but “meh” books)
Viv Vision - The Vision’s daughter, lesbian and girl of color in human form.
America Chavez - Lesbian Latina dimensional traveler (raised with two moms).
Batwoman/ Kate Kane - Jewish and Lesbian woman who’s Bruce’s cousin. Also with Renee Montoya (from Birds of Prey) as her love interest.
Damian Wayne - Son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Chinese/Arabic from his mother side. HIGHLY recommend books of him written by Peter Tomasai or Scott Synder (DC tends to write him as a racist stereotype)
Jennifer and Anissa Pierce - Black Lightning’s daughters. Anissa as a lesbian.
Mayday Parker - Daughter of Peter Parker and Mary-Jane from a different universe. Half-Jewish.
Nubia - Diana’s estranged black twin sister. Wonder Woman from another Earth.

My thoughts on Phase 4
I AM SO EXCITED FOR PHASE 4 let me just start with that. Just generally, without knowing much about the movies or trailers or anything I am pumped. It looks so cool and there are going to be so many more heroes in the universe and that makes me so happy. I know some people want more focus on like the characters from previous phases but I love that they're staring out with new stuff because its the end of the infinity saga and they want to showcase that before immediately going into sequels and threequels.
Before I get into specific series and movies I want to talk about a couple of general things:
Disney + : I don’t like that “phase 4″ also includes the series(s). don’t get me wrong, I love them like series(s) were my favorite announcements of the night but like it’s weird that they're technically counted in the phase. It makes me feel like if you don’t watch the series you're going to be missing a plot point from a movie which would irk because its a lot easier to buy a movie ticket once or twice a year than to pay for a streaming service every month (though I’ll give Disney this 6.99 isn’t a bad price that's only like a dollar more than Hulu with commercials) .
The logos: Look I know logos aren’t everything but like some of those were... how you say garbage? terrible? a crime? Like some of them were spiderman far from home advertizements bad in terms of graphic design (I’m sure we’re going to see a lot of people using the ‘graphic design is my passion’ meme and it's totally appropriate). Not all of them we’re bad though, like The Eternals one was soo good, I liked how the background was kind of like a starry night, and the Shang Chi one good and the Doctor Strange one was okay. The Hawkeye logo was *chefs kiss* perfect, I love how they took the Fractions Hawkeye logo and updated it a bit because wow yes. The Loki logo was so bad I can’t even look at it, the fan made ones were so much better, loki I’m sorry you deserved better than some clip art that I think makes a word.... and the wandavision one was just werid but then again everything about them is werid so
The casts: MARVEL HAS THE BEST CASTS EVER that’s it im saying it, no I do not take constructive criticism. Say what you will about the movie but like the amount of talent that has been and will be in the mcu is astounding I mean we had RDJ and Chris Evans, who are amazing and Brie Larson (who by the way has a freaking oscar) and now we’re going to have Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumal Nanjani, Natalie Portman is back, MAHERSHA ALI IS BLADE LIKE WOW (I think he has an oscar too correct me if I’m wrong), Awkafina is gonna be in chang chi (I love her sm), and so many others just the amount of talent is astounding.
The diversity: SO MANY WOMEN. AHHH JAne foster as female thor??? Our first LGBTQ character (confirmed at least) is going to be a bi black woman??? AMazing??? Another headlining black superhero with blade??
Moving on to the actual movies and shows. I’m putting a read more because idk if I’m going to talk about every individual announcement but I might so-
My favorite announcement by far had to be the Hawkeye series, because KATE BISHOP BABEY. She is my favorite marvel comics character and soon to be mcu character :) and now she’s going to get the love she deserves and more people will know about her which makes me so happy. Also it’s interesting that they didn’t announce her casting, so I have hope that maybe they will cast someone asian since that’s always been my headcanon for her even though she’s white in the comics. I’m trying not to use a lot of screaming in caps sentences but just know when I think about Kate being on my screen I AM SCREAMING. When I first saw the post about the series I cried because I was so so happy. And fingers crossed this series is taking cues from the fractions hawkeye comics because that really encapsulated Clint’s character in a way the mcu... hasnt (I really hate mcu clint but that’s a story for another time) so I hope that while they introduce Kate they also fix mcu’s clint and make him actually likable. (if you couldn't tell I really really don’t like MCU clint.) or at the very least not screw up Kate like they did mcu clint.
Next up THE SAMBUCKY SERIES. (I know it has a real title but like thats long and I can’t spell soildier to save my life sooo yeah I’m gonna call it the sambucky series in tags and stuff). I know not alot of people are talking about this because we already knew that it was happening, so it’s like yeah we already saw that but seeing Mackie and Stan up on stage together just made it feel so real and it made me so excited. And then Mackie was holidng the shield and I was like ahhhhhhhhhh hes freaking captain America!!! I could write a million essays about why its so important that hes cap and why it means to much to me and a lot of people but,,, another post for another time. But anyway these characters and the actors who play them have so much good chemistry that I can’t wait to really see it. One thing I’m not so excited about... the logo. There was a totally different logo when Disney + originally announced it and I liked that one so much better, this one is just... clunky?? idk but it’s not having that big an impact on my life lol its more of an annoyance then anything.
I feel like now I should mention an actual movie..
THE ETERNALS. I’m going to admit I don’t know that much about the characters or the team (which I will soon fix when I do my wiki deep dive to find out everything) but if your judging just by the cast, this movie is going to be great. I mean the amount of talent in this movie is outstanding and I really have high hopes for what it could be.
Doctor Strange: The multiverse of madness intrigues me more than I thought it would. Like for starters the name is pretty ominous, and the fact that we’re getting an actual confirmation/movie about the multiverse (far from home really let me down in that regard) is really exciting. Also it’s supposed to be the first “scary” mcu movie, I don’t know how scary they can get with a PG-13 rating (which I’m going to guess there going to try to keep because there’s a big chunk of the fanbase that’s young) but that really made me interesting. ALSO WANDA MAXIMOFF IS GOING TO BE IN IT, so that makes me so excited for it because although I’m not the biggest fan of Wanda's character (which I blame J*ss Wh*don for completely and her lack of characterization in the rest of the mcu and the complete nerfing of her powers.... another post for another time.) I’ve always wanted to see her and Steven use magic togther and I’ve seen a few panels where Wanda, Strange and Loki form a little magic squad which I WOULD VERY MUCH LOVE to see put on screen (minus Loki I’m guessing), also maybe this movie will fix a little bit of her characterization? One thing that makes me nervous about this though is the teaser that it “directly connects” to the wandavision series, if I’m not able to get Disney plus and watch the show I don’t want to have missed out on plot points for the movie but I guess we’ll see.
since I mentioned it already, lets talk WandaVision. The logo as a mentioned earlier is so very bad, but- yeah idk it’s just very bad. Also the name is really werid? like wandavision with no space? It’s like they went to tumblr, found thier ship name and was like ‘that sounds like a great name for a show’ (that is their ship name right?). I was not planning on watching this show at all UNTIL I found out that FREAKING GROWN UP MONICA RAMBEAU is going to be in it. I didn’t think they would ever bring her up again in the mcu so I’m so happy that she is going to be in this show and I hadn’t even heard any rumors about this so it was a really fun suprise. Am I sure that they are only putting her in the show so that people will watch the trainwreck that is wanda and visions relationship? Yes. But will I fall into the trap because of Monica? YES. But I think this show could be good if your willing to get past the obvious weridness of human girl is in love with basically a robot, a human looking robot sure if your being generous and maybe not fully a robot (a synthoid?) but it’s still werird because he's not human. I’m curious to see what timeline they use for this, because vision is still dead at the end of endgame. I guess they could use the 2 years between civil war and infinity war but that’s just not a lot of time for a complete story (and if this show “directly connects” the doctor strange 2 then that means that movie takes place pre-thanos as well which would be werid)
That all being said, I am really excited to see Wanda’s character done by someone who isn’t J*ss Wh*don or the R*ssos because they screwed her up so bad and she was such a badass and powerful character in the comics (my personal theory is that all of these men saw that and went ‘a powerful woman? more powerful then men? we can’t have that around here’ like what was done with Carol in endgame).
BLADE. We don’t know much about this movie and I don’t know much about the character but I AM PUMPED even though we don’t have a release date for it yet. I just think Mahersha Ali is so talented and I love Black lead heros so yeah.
THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER am I a little sad they didn't use Thor Four: More thor as our queen Gina Linetti suggested? Yes. But I love this title and it’s just crackhead enough to be acceptable. I’m so happy that this movie is being made, because 1) someone has to make up for the first two thor movies somehow, 2) someone has to fix the mess the R*ssos made of thors character and 3) Thor Ragnarok made me actually like thor as a character, so I want to see more of that Thor. ALSO JANE FOSTER AKA NATALIE PORTMAN IS BACK??? AND SHES GONNA BE FREAKING FEMALE THOR YES YES YES (that picture of her holding the hammer? wow. powerful. showstopping. amazing) I can hear all the dudebros screaming about how much they hate it but 1) who cares what they think? and 2) its completely comics accurate which is thier usual lame excuse for misogyny so they can suck it. ALSO VAL IS THE QUEEN OF ASGARD AND TESSA SAYS SHES GONNA FIND HER QUEEN so we’re gonna get REAL CANON BI VAL (aka out first lgbtq mcu character who is also a woman of color which is so amazing and important!!!!) ANYWAYS THOR IS GOING TO BE AMAZING, its the movie I’m most pumped for AND THE LOGO IS AMAZING and thank you takia watiti for coming to save us.
Black Widow... hmmm... I’m not as excited for this because one it’s not that much of a surprise since we’ve even seen set photos for it and because Scarlett Johanssen, I just don’t like her. I like Nat as a character even though Scarlett has the acting range of a celerity among many other issues but yeah. I’ll still go see the movie because girl power, and the more female led movies are successful the more they’ll make and more it’ll make the stupid dudebros and misogynists in training at my school mad. Also Rachel Wietz is talented and I liked David Harbour in Stranger things (or you know the 5 total episodes I’ve watched)
Shang Chi looks like it’s gonna be good, and idk what the ten rings is but uhh I like it. And I love that we’re getting the actual modern and hopefully they’ll do a little flashback or callback to iron man 3. ALSO AWKAFINA
What if? I love what if comics just because it’s a cool concept and it’s nice to see what if but this feels kind of pointless almost??? Idk I just don’t know why its here (also I originally thought this was going to be on hulu so I’m bitter about that). But I’m interested to see what kind of animation style they’ll go with (which honestly is a huge factor in whether or not I’ll watch it), and depending on what stories they do, if I watch it I’ll probably just end up skipping around and only looking at certain ones.
Spiderman 3, Captain Marvel 2, Black Panther 2: I’m super pumped for all of these!!! I mean especially after that cliffhanger at the end of spidey (which I’m still shook about). I cannot wait to see my girl carol again, and hopefully her movie will explain what’s going on with the “kree sleeper cells” that skrull maria hill talked about in ffh along with what the heck talos and his wife were doing on earth while fury is in space? (also a cute little reuinion scene between fury and carol?) (also also what the heck has carol been doing since captain marvel and before endgame) (also also also plz give me carol rhodey and intoduce jessica drew thanks) okay so maybe I’m asking a lot of this movie but yknow..and I’m always up to see more Okoye because she is iconic and I love her.
Fantastic 4, Look I know there's been a bajillion fantastic four movies and they were all bad ( I personally liked the one With Micheal B Jordan, Miles Teller and Kate Mara) but I have faith in marvel studios. I mean they did take a basically unknown hero and turn him into one of the most beloved heroes and launched that single movie into a cash cow 23 movie freaking franchise (I’m talking tony stark and the tony stark cinematic universe by the way) so I think they can pull off the biggest miracle of all time and make a good fantastic four movie.
Mutants... I don’t really know what they mean by this? Like do they mean X men? Or a new movie called mutants? Or mutants themselves will be peppered into the mcu? I think that it shoud be one of the last two options. Just because even if the x men don’t show up for another 2-3 years its still kinda soon to just reboot the whole thing? (also I don’t think that Jean Gray should be recasted because Sophie Turner slayed that role despite the writing being terrible), even the fantastic 4 movie the lastest one will be 6-7 years old by the time marvel reboots it so- also the x men have just been so overdone by fox in bad ways that I feel like if theyre going to use mutants which they should they should do a new team and pull out some lesser known characters and or just put mutant heros in the mcu which I would love to see.
annnnd an hour later.. here we are. If you made it to the end, thank you because I had a lot to say.

Sweet and Short Stories: Everything You Need to Know About Loki the Series
Marvel has 4 new shows coming to Disney Plus in the near future. These shows include The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye. Out of all of these new Marvel shows coming out, I’m most excited for Loki. Since the beginning of the MCU, Loki has been one of my all time favorite characters, villain or hero.
So when is this series going to hit Disney Plus you ask? Great…
